On 2 -3 December 2020, an international online conference "Digital Transformation of the Agricultural Value Chain - Opportunities, Challenges and the Role of Science" was held. It was organized jointly by BMEL (Bundesministeriums für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft) and EURAGRI (European Agricultural Research Initiative) as part of activities carried out by the German Presidency of the EU Council. Katarzyna Kosior, PhD, a representative of the IAFE ? NRI, was one of the participants of this conference. She delivered a paper titled "Agricultural Data: Diversity of Players, Data Relations and Data Categories".

Workshop: Bioeconomy Development and System Dynamics Model Building

c97a88ae66c0a30a30ed1aea87588d4e_logosy.jpg On March 5-6, 2020, the Institute hosted a workshop in order to discuss the possibilities of using the system dynamics method to build a model which enables its users to analyze the development of different sections of bioeconomy at the national level. The system dynamics method uses structures that allow for reflecting non-linear relations, in which feedbacks serve as a basis for complex systems. Thus, it allows for developing and testing relations between system elements and considering the needs resulting from changing socio-economic reality on an ongoing basis.

The first meeting of the Polish Platform for Dialogue on Sustainable Agriculture

On October 29, 2019, the first meeting of the Polish Platform for Dialogue on Sustainable Agriculture took place at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics - National Research Institute. This platform is one of five such platforms created as part of the project lead by the Institute for European Environmental Policy. The aim of the project is to intensify the debate on the future of agriculture and support efforts to achieve the level of public expenditure on research and development in European agriculture that will ensure the EU's compliance with its international obligations related to the climate and sustainable development.
