Agri-Food Sector and Rural Areas in the Face of New Challenges

The Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics National Research Institute in Warsaw cordially invites you to the International Scientific Conference entitled:

„Agri-food sector and rural areas in the face of new challenges”.

The conference will be held on September 21, 2023 (Thursday) in Warsaw in a stationary mode. An online broadcast is also planned. The exact location of the conference will be announced at a later date.

The aim of this year's conference is to discuss the impact of new challenges and conditions on the agri-food sector and rural development (e.g., geopolitical situation, including the war in Ukraine, COVID-19 pandemic, European Green Deal, energy transformation, climate change, civilizational solstice, CAP 27+). Conclusions from the presentations as well as the exchange of ideas and insights during the Conference, will contribute to the identification and analysis of these challenges and will attempt to indicate directions for the development of both the agricultural sector and rural areas in Poland and Europe.

The Conference is a continuation of the cyclical international scientific conferences that were organized by Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics National Research Institute in 2005-2018.

Proposed topic areas:

- Internationalization of the agri-food sector in times of instability and dynamic changes in the global economy.

- The growing importance of market regulation - satisfying the interests of food producers vs. consumer expectations.

- Competitiveness of the EU food market vs. high costs of raw materials.

- Key challenges for sustainable food processing in times of threatened global food security.

- Food security in Poland and other European Union countries. Impact of new threats on food security of EU countries.

- Global supply chains - a new approach to the emergency supply system.

- Economic situation of agri-food sector entities.

- International competitiveness of the agricultural sector in the EU countries in the aspect of the European Green Deal strategy.

- Financial and risk management policies in agriculture.

Participation in the conference is free of charge.

The speakers' papers will be published in theIAFE NRI journal - "Problems of Agricultural Economics"(Ministry of Education and Science: 40 pts).
